SIN EUSTATIUS - Moins de relief et d'animation qu'à SABA
SINT EUSTATIUS : the island’s last volcanic eruption was in AD 400 but you can still see the evidence of the lava flow on the seabed, in its deep trenches and fissures. Vestiges of XVIIIth century colonial Sint Eustatius are also found beneath the surface, such as portions of quay wall that have slipped into the sea. Old ballast stones, anchors, cannons and ship remains have become vibrant coral reefs, protected by the Statia Marine Park. A collection of ships has also been purposefully sunk in recent years.
